The starting location is a reasonable drive from Austin-Round Rock, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Williamson County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down San Gabriel River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. way there are lots of good spots for that around here. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Georgetown City Pk to Jonah section is just one of many. Lodging is available near the river, but if you
| don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. | |

paying a visit to Manske Branch Spring. For the duration of the warm days of summer here at San Gabriel River, high temperatures commonly reach the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 70's.
