Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Texas is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from San Antonio,     as you can see on the road map further down. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. A good workout and a chance to spend   some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: There are great places to look at along the Cibolo Nature Center Trail, and Cedar Springs is always fun to check out. Lots of folks from Mico come to San Geronimo Creek, and going for a hike on the Friedrich Wilderness Park Trail Network is always a glorious adventure. This river has so much to offer.
