The beautiful scenery of Uintah County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Hades Campground to Rock Creek section of Duchesne River is 32.5 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The Uinta Mountains scenery is wonderful. And     of course, there are campgrounds nearby. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Hades Campground to Rock Creek section is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Now this is a pretty long section, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Getting some good exercise and a chance   to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Briefly about the general area: During your tour to Duchesne River you'll meet some folks from Tabiona for sure, and there's good hiking along the Slope Trail. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Uinta Mountains. Cottonwood Hollow is a great spot to check out near Duchesne River. Not much rain falls here at Duchesne River. September is when you get the most rain here while March is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Duchesne River typically tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's.
