The nature scenery of Utah and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you're coming from Vernal it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Utah whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. |
This stretch of Green River in Utah is 27 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I-III section. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because
| it is a very popular destination. The beautiful Uinta Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. here at Green River are pretty good. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places.
Briefly about the general area:
A tremendous location to stop at right next door to Green River is Jackson Draw, and nearby you come across the Little Hole Trail which is a good hiking trail. These mountains rock, just check out all the fun things to do
in the Uinta Mountains. Going for a hike on the Lowline Trail is always a perfect adventure. Green River is pretty arid typically. The month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is generally the driest month.
