Utah whitewater, Lake Fork Duchesne county, Moon Lake to Bridge to Yellowstone River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-IV     8.3 miles   This section of Lake Fork in Duchesne County is 8.3 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-IV section of whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Evanston, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because     these hotels fill up quick. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. The natural beauty of Utah and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The Uinta Mountains scenery is wonderful. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. If you've been   whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Utah you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so you'd better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. Briefly about the general area: If the weather is wonderful here at Lake Fork, you can go for a hike along the Fish Creek National Recreation Trail. Don't leave Lake Fork without going to Ashley National Forest; you might also want to pay a visit to Mackentire Draw while you're here at Lake Fork. At this river you will always have a good time.
