This stretch of Price River is 15 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Price, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular |
destination. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your camp stove. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling places.
| Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Utah is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. The wonderful Utah scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Price River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more.

Scofield State Park is a pleasant place to stretch your legs a bit. Price River gets very little precipitation. The month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month is June. Summer brings highs in the 70's to
Price River, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Price River.
