This section of Virgin River in Washington County is 49 miles long and has been rated as a class I-V(V+) section by American Whitewater. The scenic beauty of Washington County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. There are campgrounds quite near the river     where you can camp. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks like you will be camping out. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Virgin to Littlefield section is one of them. There are many good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The put-in is not too far from St. George, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while   are great reasons to come. Briefly about the general area: Snow Canyon State Park is both wonderful and gorgeous, and it's near Virgin River, and you might also want to pay a visit to Mokaac Wash if you're here at Virgin River. When you're here at Virgin River it's always fun to have a look at Quail Creek State Park; since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Saint George. This is a really good river. Throughout the warm months at Virgin River temperatures are usually in the 90's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Virgin River.
