There are plenty of other paddle oppurtunities along the Weber River, in Utah. The Ogden Play Park (OPP to the locals) is a great park and play destination, however, check out the Class IV Scrambled Eggs Bend or the Class III Mouth of Weber Canyon/HWY 89 to Riverdale for a real Utah whitewater treat. When the spring runoff is high, the Riverdale Wave is the best wave feature in the whole state. Most new paddlers start on the Class II+/III- |
Henefer to Taggarts, which keep beginners and experts coming back for more every year. Says Stuntmonkey
The Ogden Whitewater Park stretch of Weber River is 0 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class
| II-III section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Utah and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Ogden-Clearfield, as you can see | |

on the road map further down. This is a very short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Utah
you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as
well.
Briefly about the general area: Fort Buenaventura State Park is a tremendous place to stretch your legs a bit, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Snowbasin if you're here.
