This stretch of Clyde River in Orleans County is 21 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Vermont you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding.     This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Berlin, as you can see on the road map further down. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling places. The Green Mountains scenery is wonderful. A   good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. Briefly about the general area: A perfect place like Brighton State Park right next door to Clyde River is too splendid to leave out, and you can spend the day on the beach at Balm of Gilead Beach. Yeah, come up here to the Green Mountains for a perfect time. The Pisgah Trail is a good hiking trail near Clyde River, and people from Morgan love to come here. This river is so great. On a great day at Clyde River you can take a hike along the Mount Pisgah East Trail, and a trip to Crystal Lake State Park is a great idea.
