  The starting location is a short drive from Bennington, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The scenic beauty of Windham County and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The Searsburg Dam to Harriman Reservoir section of Deerfield River in Vermont
    is 4.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing
to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will make you glad you came. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.

A splendid spot near Deerfield
 
River is Sleepy Hollow, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Haystack. Go for a hike on the Deerfield Ridge Trail, and you unquestionably must take a look at Woodford State Park if you're here. At this river you will always have a good time. Good hiking is available along the Deerfield Ridge Trail, and if you're dropping by from Wilmington, you won't be the only one. Deerfield River is right next door to Molly Stark State Park which is a pretty location. Deerfield River is a wet place that gets a lot of rain. August is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
