  If you're coming from Rutland it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Vermont you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Otter Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections,
    the Above Bleeders Dam to Bleeders Dam section is the only one. This section is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. There's camping available near Otter Creek. This section of
Otter Creek in Vermont is 0 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Vermont scenery and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll  
have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
Half Moon Pond State Park is a nice location, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Nature Trail. Places like Branbury State Park are great to stop at, and going for a hike along the Falls of Lana Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. This river has so much to offer. While you're here at Otter Creek you will meet lots of folks from nearby Whiting. Through the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Otter Creek, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
