  This stretch of Saxton's River in Vermont is 11 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Vermont are often more forgiving than in other states, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. You can enjoy this section more if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. There are plenty of hotels here
    if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The put-in location is a

There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Grafton to Connecticut River section is one of them. The wonderful Windham County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here.

Wilgus State Park is both magnificent and charming, and it's right next door to Saxton's River; close by you hit upon magnificent locations like Pleasant Valley. The friendly folks of Saxtons River like to hang out nearby. During the warmest time of the year highs here at Saxton's River reach the 80's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Saxton's River temperatures plunge to the 10's. Saxton's River is a quite wet place mostly with a good deal of precipitation.
