Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Vermont is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camping stuff too. This stretch of Waits River in Orange County is 10.5   miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Briefly about the general area: Here at Waits River you'll probably meet some folks from Topsham, and Iras Pinnacle is an attention-grabbing spot to check out while at Waits River. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more exciting things to do here in the Green Mountains. The Grimes Hill Road offers hiking at its best, and a visit to Boulder Beach is always a glorious idea. Coming to this river is always a good idea.
