rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. The campgrounds here at West River are pretty
good. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The Londonderry rapids stretch of West River in Vermont is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II-III section of whitewater. The Londonderry rapids section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. A good workout and
a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The Green Mountains scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers.

Briefly about the general area:
When you're here at West River it's always fun to pop by Jamaica State Park; you'll meet a lot of people from South Londonderry here. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the Green Mountains has to offer. Don't leave West River without first going for a hike along the Hamilton Falls Trail.
