this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Middlesex to Waterbury section is one of them. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip.
Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. There are many good hotels to choose from, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Vermont is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The
Green Mountains scenery is wonderful.

Briefly about the general area:
There's pleasant hiking along the Stevenson Brook Trail, and Waterbury Center State Park is a good location to pop by. Be careful coming to the Green Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. Don't leave Winooski River without first going for a hike along the Hedgehop Hill Loop Trail. A tour to Little River State Park revives the soul; if you're going to from Moretown, you won't be the only one. Bolton Valley is a very popular ski area close at hand. Winooski River gets a typical amount of yearly precipitation.
