The Pucketts Hole to Nash Ford section of Clinch River is 8 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average Virginia whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy.     If you're coming from Bristol it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There are plenty of folks from Honaker here at Clinch River; Howard Hollow is a good location to spend some time. This river is so wonderful. For the duration of the summer months at Clinch River temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Summer night lows sink down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are usually in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Clinch River.
