There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Taylor's Mill to Cedar Bluff stretch is one of them. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking     or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of spots for that. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Virginia tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: A good place in close   proximity to Clinch River is Baptist Valley, and a tour to Hungry Mother State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. You'll meet a lot of folks from Bandy here; delightful hiking is available along the Blue Grass Trail. This river has it all.
