There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Collierstown to Buffalo Creek section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Whitewater paddling here in the Blue Ridge Mountains is a great experience. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. The rivers for   whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Virginia are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere.
