  The nature scenery of Virginia and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The Rt. 667 to Rapidan River and Route 29 Bridge stretch of Conway River in Virginia is 13 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Conway River are pretty good. The starting location is a short drive from Charlottesville, if you're not familiar with
    the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled
as well. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Take a hike on the Jones Mountain Trail, and Walnut Hollow is a great site to have a look at. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Pocosin Hollow Trail, and the friendly folks of Hood like to hang out nearby. This river is so great. At Conway River during the summertime highs are in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Conway River are in the 20's. An average amount of rain falls at Conway River. The month with most of the rain is August, and January on the other hand is the driest.
