The wonderful Warren County scenery and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often     easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. The campgrounds here at Gooney Run are pretty good. The wild scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains is great. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. This section of Gooney Run in Warren County is 4.1 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV+ section by American Whitewater. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up   sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: There is a pleasant hiking trail next to Gooney Run called the Dickey Hill Trail, and this is a popular place for people from Bentonville. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too nice to be true. Near Gooney Run you find the Gimlet Ridge Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. Shenandoah River Andy Guest State Park is both good and charming, and it's near Gooney Run. During the days of summer highs here at Gooney Run reach the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's.
