The Pony Pasture Park to Reedy Creek section of James River in Virginia is 5 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Richmond it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: You'll meet a lot of folks from Richmond here; of course, everybody loves Pocahontas State
Park. James River frequently gets a lot of rainfall. August is the month that gets the most rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. Summertime at James River comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during
the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are ordinarily in the 40's, and overnight lows during the winter for James River tend to be in the 20's.
