Briefly about the general area: This is a popular   place for people from Richmond, and Pocahontas State Park is worth visiting. Lots of precipitation falls at James River. The wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is April. Through the summer at James River highs are generally in the 80's, and the night is a bit cooler of course, usually in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to James River.
