CLASS I-III     8 miles
  The put-in is not too far from Staunton-Waynesboro, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of Jennings Branch in Virginia is 8 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There are campgrounds
    quite near the river where you can camp. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less demanding.
The Jennings Gap to Middle River stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set.

to hang out close by. While you're here at Jennings Branch you can take a hike along the Lookout Mountain Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Jennings Branch. July is the wettest month with most rain, and January is when it's the driest. For the period of the months of summer at Jennings Branch temperatures are commonly in the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Jennings Branch descend into the 10's.
