  If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. The starting location is a short drive from Harrisonburg, as you can see on the road map further down. The wonderful Virginia scenery and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. On this section you do get some distance,
    good for a one day paddling trip. The campgrounds here at Mill Creek - Shenandoah Tributary are pretty good. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Route 42 to North Fork Shenandoah River section is
one of them. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. This stretch of Mill Creek - Shenandoah Tributary in Virginia is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. There are some good hotels near the river, and if you make reservations
