The Fries   to Allisonia section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: If the weather is magnificent here at New River, you can go for a hike along the Yellow Branch Trail. While you're here at New River you will meet lots of people from nearby Austinville. The Cliff Branch Trail is a good hiking trail close to New River.
