This section of Pimmit Run in Virginia is 3 miles long and it is classified as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, as you can see on the road map further down. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you've been whitewater rafting     and kayaking outside Virginia you might find the rivers here a bit more manageable, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are very easy. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Lodging is available near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch is short so better bring some good walking shoes. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Why not take a refreshing hike along the Upland Trail, and you'll meet a lot of folks from   Mc Lean here. George Washington's Grist Mill Historic State Park is a delightful site to go if you're at Pimmit Run; if you're looking for a delightful spree, Glen Echo Park is pretty near. This is a great river. A great beach near Pimmit Run is Bathing Beach, and Pimmit Run is right by the Woods Trail. Pimmit Run is a good place of typical precipitation. May is when you get the most rain here, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Pimmit Run, and the nighttime is somewhat colder of course, usually in the 60's.
