This stretch of Rapidan River in Virginia is 15 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II section of whitewater. The put-in is not too far from Richmond, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that.     You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camping stuff. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Route 610 to Motts Run section is one of them. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Briefly   about the general area: Don't leave Rapidan River without first going for a hike along the Jackson Trail. Lots of folks from Fredericksburg come to Rapidan River. All through the summer highs here at Rapidan River get into the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's; night lows at Rapidan River through the wintertime mostly drop into the 20's. Rapidan River gets a normal amount of annual rain. During May this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.
