The put-in is not too far from Aberdeen, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. This section of Big Creek is 2 miles long and is a class III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. Getting a good workout and just hanging out |
with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This
| is a short paddling stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. Briefly about the general area: While you're here at Big Creek you can take a hike along the Skyline Trail, and there are plenty of people from Quinault here at Big Creek. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy
the Olympic Mountains. Olympic National Forest is a good place to go if you're at Big Creek. During the months of summer highs here at Big Creek get into the 70's with night lows in the 40's. Highs during the wintertime
are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Big Creek. The high level of rainfall makes Big Creek a rather wet place. December is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is July.
