You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This is a bit of a short stretch so no need to bring snacks. The put-in is not too far from Ellensburg, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an   added bonus. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. The campgrounds here at Box Canyon Creek are pretty good. Briefly about the general area: Lake Easton State Park is a splendid place to visit on a delightful day; hiking is a popular thing to do around Box Canyon Creek; Cooper Pass Trail is a pleasant local trail. That right there is plenty of fun things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. The skiing at Summit at Snoqualmie is delightful; the Kachess Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best.
