is one of them. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. You might
be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling spots.

Briefly about the general area:
Don't leave Carbon River without popping by Nolte State Park, and this is a popular site for folks from Carbonado. So much cool stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too good to be true. Hiking along the Paul Peak Trail is good fun, and Flaming Geyser State Park is a perfect spot to go. This is such a wonderful river. At Carbon River through the warm months highs are in the 70's; the night is somewhat chillier of course, regularly in the 50's.
