If you're coming from Longview-Kelso it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of Clark County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. You might be into
    whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Amboy to North Fork Lewis section is one of them.
This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. There's camping available near Cedar Creek. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from  
the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The Amboy to North Fork Lewis stretch of Cedar Creek is 10.3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III(IV) section.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Cedar Creek there are plenty of folks from Amboy, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Georges Peak Trail. So many fun things in the Northern Cascade Range, just incredible. A visit to Battle Ground Lake State Park when you're here at Cedar Creek is a good idea.
