Washington whitewater, Chewuch River

Okanogan county, Andrews Camp to Camp Four section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV-V     5 miles
The nature scenery of Okanogan County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve
in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The put-in is not too far from Wenatchee, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Chewuch River is 5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a
class IV-V section. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's good length for a morning trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The campgrounds here at Chewuch River are pretty good. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. This river system is full of great paddling
sections, the Andrews Camp to Camp Four section is just one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
Here at Chewuch River you'll most likely meet some people from Mazama, and nearby you come across the North Twentymile Trail which is a good hiking trail.
