Chewuch River make the trip here worthwhile. This is a pretty decent length section, suitable for an afternoon trip. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in
| your car. The starting location is a short drive from Wenatchee, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The river winds through the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. | |

Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. There's camping available near Chewuch River.
Briefly about the general area: There's great hiking along
the Pearrygin Trail, and at Chewuch River you always meet someone from Winthrop. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Good hiking is available along the Bluff Lake Trail, and a spree
to Pearrygin Lake State Park is a good idea. This river is always fun. Chewuch River gets very little rain. December is the month that gets the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
