The Five Mile Bridge to Winthrop stretch of Chewuch River in Okanogan County is 8 miles long and is a class II+(IV) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The natural beauty of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down

your car. The starting location is a short drive from Wenatchee, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Briefly about the general area:
There's great hiking along the Pearrygin Trail, and at Chewuch River you always meet someone from Winthrop. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Good hiking is available along the Bluff Lake Trail, and a spree to Pearrygin Lake State Park is a good idea. This river is always fun. Chewuch River gets very little rain. December is the month that gets the most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.
