The natural beauty of Jefferson County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The campgrounds here at Christmas Creek are pretty good. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive   a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The beautiful Olympic Mountains scenery is an added bonus. Briefly about the general area: Ruby Beach is in the neighborhood of Christmas Creek and is a wonderful beach to visit; a tour to Bogachiel State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Olympic Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. Take a hike on the Pass Trail, and do put some time aside to spend at Rocky Rapids if you're here at Christmas Creek. This is such a fun river.
