The put-in location is a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, as you can see on the road map further down. | You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. The wonderful Pierce County scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Go for a hike
on the Clearwater Trail, and a trip here wouldn’t be complete without a journey to nearby Federation Forest State Park. These mountains rock, just look at all the amusing things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Here
at Clearwater River - White River Tributary you'll perhaps meet some folks from Enumclaw, and a good location like Nolte State Park is too glorious to leave out.
