CLASS IV-V(V+)     5 miles
  The put-in is not too far from Mount Vernon-Anacortes, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Day Creek in Washington is 5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V(V+) section of whitewater. The wonderful Skagit County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one
    day trip. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking
there are lots of good spots for that around here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The nearby hotels are a bit away from  
the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
You might want to pay a visit to Rocky Canyon while you're here at Day Creek. The Gee Point Trail offers hiking at its best, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area is a very splendid location to go to. This river is so good. You're sure to encounter some good people from Mount Vernon-Anacortes here. For the period of the warm months highs here at Day Creek get into the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's while Day Creek night low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's.
