The rest of the year it's about like the flaming geyser river with rapids lots of shallow rocks. Says Chris Zio This stretch of Dosewallips River in Washington is 3 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often tougher than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The Olympic Mountains scenery is wonderful. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. This is a somewhat short section so no need to bring snacks. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want   to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the water flowing gracefully down Dosewallips River have people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Bull Elk Canyon is a nice location to explore, and the Mount Jupiter Trail is a perfect hiking trail nearby. Having a perfect time in the Olympic Mountains is uncomplicated. A journey to Dosewallips River wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Pleasant Harbor State Park, and there are plenty of folks from Lilliwaup here at Dosewallips River.
