Washington whitewater, Duwamish River

King county, King County Park behind Boeing section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     0.1 miles
The put-in location is a short drive from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The King County Park behind Boeing stretch of Duwamish River in Washington is 0.1 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. There are many good hotels
to choose from, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Washington you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind
that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This is the only paddling section along Duwamish River. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is an extremely
short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.

Briefly about the general area:
A tour to Saint Edwards State Park rejuvenates the spirit, and you can spend the day on the beach at Brighton Beach. Saltwater State Park is a great place; one of the best things about this spot is its proximity to Pritchett Island Beach. This river is so wonderful. Lots of people from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue come to Duwamish River. Summer at Duwamish River arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's.
