not easy. Whitewater paddling here in the Olympic Mountains is a great experience. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. There are a few other sections in this river
| system that can be paddled as well. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Elochoman River
is not far at all from Cathlamet, and time spent at Jones Beach is always wonderful. Be careful coming to the Olympic Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. Rainbow Falls State Park is a tremendous spot
to go if you're at Elochoman River, and on a gorgeous day you can go to Westport Beach. This is such a great river. During the summertime at Elochoman River highs are typically in the 70's.
