Washington whitewater, Fly Creek

Clark county, Little Fly Creek to Canyon Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS V+     5.5 miles

This section of Fly Creek is 5.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Little Fly Creek to Canyon Creek section is one of them. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington tend to be more challenging
than the national average, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking
this is an area with plenty of spots for that. The beautiful Northern Cascade Range scenery is an added bonus. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, suitable for an afternoon trip. The wonderful Washington scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream have people coming here. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river
if you want to stay the night, but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll meet a lot of folks from Cougar here, and there are great places to look at along the Siouxon Trail. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is bountiful here in the Northern Cascade Range. Battle Ground Lake State Park is both splendid and pretty, and it's next to Fly Creek, and going for a hike on the Horseshoe Ridge Trail is always a tremendous adventure. This river has so much to offer. Throughout the warm days of summer at Fly Creek temperatures are frequently in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's.
