Washington whitewater, Granite Creek

Whatcom county, Beebe Creek to Panther Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV     5 miles
The starting location is a short drive from Wenatchee, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Whatcom County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water make the trip here worthwhile. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. This section of Granite
Creek in Washington is 5 miles long and it is classified as a class IV section by American Whitewater. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. If you're a camper you can camp at one
of the great campgrounds nearby. The Beebe Creek to Panther Creek section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. There aren’t any
hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
While you're here at Granite Creek you can take a hike along the Jack Mountain Trail, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the East Bank Trail. All year is a splendid time in the Northern Cascade Range if you love the outdoors. All the water falling down from the sky makes Granite Creek a wet spot. The month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; July is the month with the least moisture.
