The beautiful scenery of Washington and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. This section of Grays River is 5.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV+ section of whitewater. The starting point is not too far from Astoria, as you can see on the road map further down. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. is wonderful. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting
| here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

the general area: While you're here at Grays River you will meet lots of folks from close by Grays River; nothing beats kicking back at Westport Beach. So many exciting things in the Olympic Mountains, just impressive.
The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 60's to Grays River, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the
