The nature scenery of Pierce/King County and the water flowing gracefully down Greenwater River beats anything. This stretch of Greenwater River in Pierce/King County is 7.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class II(IV) section of whitewater. For all you camping people there are campgrounds     nearby. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is   an area with plenty of spots for that. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. Briefly about the general area: There's splendid hiking along the Divide Trail, and a journey here wouldn’t be complete without a visit to nearby Federation Forest State Park. And if that's not enough there's a lot more exciting things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. The Lester Trail offers hiking at its best; Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is worth stopping at. If you come to this river you will have a good time for sure. A day on the slopes of Crystal Mountain is just what you need.
