  The nature scenery of Cowlitz County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. The starting location is a short drive from Longview-Kelso, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. This section of Kalama River in Washington is 2.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national
    average, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because
it is a very popular destination. The Lower Kalama Falls to Indian Creek section is one of many paddling sections in this river system. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a somewhat short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Whether you're whitewater  
rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places.

Briefly about the general area:
This is a popular place for folks from Kalama, and on a beautiful day you can go to Lyons Beach. Take a hike on the Georges Peak Trail, and time spent at Goble Beach is always splendid. At this river you will always have a good time. A trip to Lower Kalama River Falls will fill your soul with great feelings; when you're here it's always fun to take a look at Seaquest State Park. Summertime highs at Kalama River mostly tend to be in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's.
