CLASS III+     21 miles
  Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Washington and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water have people coming here. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The starting point is not too far from City of The Dalles, if you're not familiar
    with the area there's a road map further down the page. The campgrounds here at Klickitat River are pretty good. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The river winds through
the Northern Cascade Range and you get great scenery. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. The Yakama Reservation to Leidl Campground stretch of Klickitat River in Washington is 21 miles long and it is classified  
as a class III+ section by American Whitewater. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag.

Briefly about the general area:
Rock Springs is always fun to check out, and you'll probably meet some people from Glenwood here. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Northern Cascade Range. Put some time aside to spend at Indian Ford Springs if you're here at Klickitat River. Klickitat River gets a lot of water. Of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and the driest month of the year is July. High temperatures at Klickitat River during the days of summer are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's.
