If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so if you're not from around here don't forget     that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the Klickitat Springs to Fishing Access section is just one of many. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling spots. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Klickitat Springs to Fishing Access stretch of Klickitat River is 10.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class   II-III section of whitewater. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Cascade Range is a great experience. Briefly about the general area: If you would like a little side journey, try Johnson Canyon, and Mayer State Park is a perfect location. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Northern Cascade Range. Lots of folks from Klickitat come to Klickitat River, and spots like Horsethief Lake State Park are nice to stop by.
