This stretch of Klickitat River in Washington is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from City of The Dalles, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Washington     are harder than the national norm, so keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. When you're paddling down a Northern Cascade Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is an extremely short   section so no need to bring snacks. The Fishing Access on Highway 142 to Columbia River stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. Briefly about the general area: If you're here, you might as well pop by Mud Spring Canyon, and Indian Point is around here and always good to check out. These mountains rock, just check out all the cool stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Everybody loves Mayer State Park, and Martin Spring is an inspiring place to check out while here. This river is so perfect. At Klickitat River you always meet someone from Lyle; Koberg Beach is a scenic beach to stop by.
