The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Washington are often more challenging than in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The put-in is not too far from Ellensburg, as you can see on the road map further down. The nature scenery of Chelan County and the cool fresh water beats anything. according to American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far
| and near. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the along FR 400 section is one of them. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is a bit of a short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

about the general area: Don't leave Lake Creek without dropping by Wenatchee National Forest. For the period of the summertime at Lake Creek highs are commonly in the 60's. Summer night lows descend down to the 40's.
All through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lake Creek are in the 10's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Lake Creek a wet spot. The month with most of the snow is January, and the driest of the months is July.
