Washington whitewater, Lewis River - North Fork

Twin Falls to FR 88 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II-III     3 miles

Put in at Hapa park Says Leilani

Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Washington is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. The wonderful -blank- County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. This is a pretty short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. This section of Lewis River - North Fork in -blank-
County is 3 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time
outdoors have a lot of people coming here. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of places for that. The put-in location is a short drive from Hood River, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing
to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The beauty of the Northern Cascade Range is a great plus for this river.

Briefly about the general area:
Gifford Pinchot National Forest is a glorious site; going for a hike on the Divide Camp Trail is always a glorious adventure. So many exciting things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too glorious to be true. Near Lewis River - North Fork you stumble on the Table Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. At Lewis River - North Fork all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly chillier of course, mostly in the 40's.
