FR 88 to Quartz Creek section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS IV     3.4 miles
This section of Lewis River - North Fork is 3.4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV section. The average Washington whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so better not forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. You might have to settle
for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking,
either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling places. This section is quite short so better bring some good walking shoes. The natural beauty of -blank- County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream will make you feel great. The wild scenery of the Northern Cascade Range is great. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Hood River, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further
down the page. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the FR 88 to Quartz Creek section is just one of them. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby.

Briefly about the general area:
Everybody loves Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and you can go for a hike on the East Crater Trail. All year is a tremendous time in the Northern Cascade Range if you go for the outdoors. A short tour to Little Niagara Falls is always worthwhile, and there are good places to explore along the Table Mountain Trail. At this river you will never have a bad time. Lewis River - North Fork sees pretty high levels of rainfall.
